“Lies My Teacher Told Me”, James W. Loewen - Please Share Your Views

James W. Loewen has written award winning books and reviews history textbooks for accuracy, among his many endeavors. “Lies My Teacher Told Me” (1997) and the revised updated version (2007) are tremendous sources for truth seekers concerning everything from history to current events. Loewen provides exceptional chapter notes and references which lead to an enhanced learning experience and more accurate views. Explore the contents and index for a topic that interests you. For instances, American Presidents, who “discovered” America, African Americans, Indians, wars, Mexicans, September 11, 2001,are a few examples to get you started.

Over the next several weeks I will be involved in an Action Research course for my doctorate program and would deeply appreciate input concerning a couple of projects. There is one idea I am considering to focus on because even it doesn’t fit the course it involves history and current events, which I find immensely fascinating and great fun for discussions. For course project input, I would appreciate the following information including: your first name and last initial; your email address and/or website; the topic you reviewed; if, or how, reviewing the topic changed your views. You may include as much information and comments as you wish. I may not always respond promptly while the semester is in session, although I will want to, however I will save all submissions so I can respond as I am able.

The following is from a discussion I started which may be useful: http://mypeace.tv/profile/TheAngelPowerEmporium
One way to increase care for peace is to teach it in all levels of education whenever possible within a curriculum. My generation helped promote peace extensively and it is thrilling to see people the ages of my kids and grand kids who are also avid promoters of peace. My education goals include establishing an online academy for persons who have been out of school to assist them in returning to education or in finding new jobs by guiding them for success. I need to first find ways to obtain donations & funding for our non-profit charity to be able to grant scholarships that will assist low-income students in higher education.

The following concerns the charity and our ultimate goals: http://www.theangelpoweremporium.org/
The Angel Power Emporium, Inc. ~ TAPE for Cracks in the System ~
MISSION
The Angel Power Emporium (TAPE) is a non-profit charity which exists to provide awareness of social issues, to establish the Seth Ezekiel Miller Scholarship for low-income fathers initiating involvement in post-secondary education and/or gainful employment, and, to provide supplemental educational skills for other persons enduring a transition in life. Other academic scholarships are also being created.
PURPOSE
The purpose of TAPE is to learn about and to share the needs of people and methods for helping them, as well as, seeking information from other organizations, agencies, and, government entities, in order to improve the quality-of-life for citizens with needs. We intend to work with student groups to increase community service advocacy and actions.
Prospective Goals
Establish educational programs which can provide a knowledge base and skill sets that inspire success in education and employment, while encouraging the concepts of learning as a life-long endeavor, and, that investing in education is an investment in the future of our nation. We intend to for student groups, and, hold topic-relevant contests to promote skills, social awareness, and, creativity.
Future considerations include the following: providing internships for vocational, college, and, university students; providing enhanced communication skills for education, business, and, social awareness; assisting school and college dropouts to return to education; providing information on important social issues; and, much more.

TAPE is a non-profit charity and is established to receive online donations to help fund scholarships plus education and social awareness activities. Substantial donations can be rewarded with a scholarship produced to honor a person of their choice. Won't you please add us to the list of charities you help support?
Make checks payable to: TAPE, Inc. Mail: POB 509, Corning, OH 43730
